Getting a LEGO Ideas project submission approved to become an official LEGO set is no easy task. With an ever growing LEGO Ideas community, there are more and more projects each submission round that achieve the coveted 10,000 supporters to earn official consideration from the LEGO Ideas design team. The vast majority of these submissions, for whatever reason, are not selected to go to market (although an increasing number are getting a second chance thanks to the expanded BrickLink Designer Program).
We had the chance to sit down with LEGO Ideas designer Jordan Scott to find out what it takes to get a LEGO set approved during a round of LEGO Ideas review, and what would-be designers can do to increase their chances of success.
