Join me, and the Hogwarts Sorting Hat for a fun and detailed LEGO review of 76429 Talking Sorting Hat from LEGO Harry Potter. Released in 2024, this 561-piece LEGO Harry Potter set features a sound brick with 31 sound combinations and a minifigure of 11-year-old Harry wearing The Sorting Hat which appears in a new reddish-brown colorway. Designed by George Gilliatt, 76429 Talking Sorting Hat features a neat mechanism which animates the sentient magical hat as it sorts students (and Harry Styles) into their Hogwarts houses.
I start by unboxing the Talking Sorting Hat and you won't miss a second of the fun with a 90 second speed build giving you the whole unboxing and building experience. As well as a very detailed review of The LEGO Sorting Hat, I explain the history of The Sorting hat and how it was created by Hogwarts house founders Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw.
A video about The Hogwarts Sorting Hat would not be complete with a biography of the actor Leslie Phillips CBE who voiced the legendary hat in three of the Harry Potter movies. I'll tell you about Leslie's sparkling acting career which came to an end when he died aged 98.
The best thing about LEGO's 76429 Talking Sorting Hat is the interactive functionality. 31 sound combinations and a button mounted underneath allow you to sort friends and family. I take the opportunity to sort myself, Mrs. Herbert and special guest star Harry Styles. That and more surprises await you in this fun, and informative LEGO Sorting Hat review video.
